Small-group Jesmonite workshop with Gaby from objectify to make a lidded pumpkin pot, a mini terrazzo pot and a marbled coaster.
Gaby from objectify is running a Jesmonite pumpkin pot workshop at Headingley Enterprise & Arts Centre on Tuesday 20 October, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. If you've never come across it, Jesmonite is a non-toxic, eco-friendly, water-based resin used for decorative homeware, art and furniture. It comes as a two-part mix of powder and liquid that you combine at a 1 to 2.5 ratio to make a milky mixture, which you then pour into silicone moulds to cure.
Over the two hours, you'll work through three different techniques: terrazzo, marbling and block colour. Because Jesmonite sets quickly, you don't have to leave your work behind to dry overnight — you'll take everything home with you at the end. That means you'll walk out with a lidded pumpkin-shaped pot, a mini terrazzo pot and a marbled coaster, with all the materials provided on the night. The pumpkin pot is the main feature, and the other two give you a chance to practice the different styles.

It's a small-group session, with a maximum of ten people, so it's not a crowded room. If you find you've got the bug, Jesmonite kits are available to buy on the night, so you can keep experimenting at home after the workshop is over. The whole thing runs from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Headingley Enterprise & Arts Centre, Bennett Road, Headingley, LS6 3HN.
