Weekly student indie rock night with indie classics from Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, Blur and The Libertines at the O2 Academy Leeds.
Indie Thursdays returns to the O2 Academy Leeds on Thursday 22 October, taking over the Main Arena for a night of indie rock'n'roll classics. It's not a one-off, either — it runs as a weekly fixture at the venue throughout the autumn, with dates on 5, 12, 19, and 26 November, then 3 and 10 December. If you're looking for something to do on a Thursday night, you've got plenty of chances to catch it.
The night bills itself as the biggest indie night to hit Leeds, and the music comes from a long list of names. You'll hear the Arctic Monkeys, Biffy Clyro, The Black Keys, Blur, The Libertines, Oasis, The Smiths, The Stone Roses, The 1975, Kasabian, Foals and The Vaccines, among many more. It's a broad run of indie rock from the last few decades, so it should cover a fair bit of ground across the set.
There's one important thing to keep in mind: it's a student-based night, and you'll need a student ID to get in. If you've got one, it's a straightforward way to spend a Thursday evening in the city. If you don't, this one isn't for you.
