All-night club night headlined by Daphni (Dan Snaith) at Hope House, the kick-off of Hope House Presents and MAP Charity's 20th anniversary.
Daphni takes over Hope House on Friday 6 November, playing all night long. It's a single-name bill, so the whole night is built around one set rather than a line-up of opening acts.
If the name doesn't ring a bell, Daphni is the production alias of Dan Snaith, who most people know as Caribou. The two projects run in parallel, and the Daphni side is where he keeps his club focus. The sound is built on the spontaneous, rough-hewn tracks that characterise his work away from the Caribou project — the kind of house and disco that feels more like it's being pulled together on the fly than polished in a studio. It's a different energy from the songs and arrangements of his main project, and an all-night set gives him plenty of room to let that side of things breathe.
The night comes under Hope House Presents, the venue's new event series, and it's billed as the kick-off for MAP Charity's 20th anniversary celebrations. So it's not just a standalone booking; it's the first in a run of things marking two decades for the charity.
