Hayseed Dixie, marking 25 years since they redefined bluegrass, play the Brudenell Social Club in Headingley with support from Sweet Electric.
Hayseed Dixie play Brudenell Social Club on Friday 23 October, with Sweet Electric opening the night. It's part of a 25th anniversary tour that marks a quarter-century since they first started doing hillbilly versions of rock classics.
They first made a name for themselves in 2001 with A Hillbilly Tribute to AC/DC, and they've built a global following since then on a mix of banjo, fiddle, mandolin and guitar. The sound is bluegrass played with a rock sensibility, and the tour comes alongside their new album Rockgrass Outlaws, which they recorded live in the studio. On it, they return to the classic outlaw country songs that inspired them from the start, so the set should pull from both the new record and the older material they've become known for.
