Haus of Hex plays Wharf Chambers, the co-op bar and music venue on Wharf Street in Leeds.
Haunted Haus 2: Haus of Hex takes over Wharf Chambers on Saturday 31 October, with the night presented by Haus of Hex. It's a Halloween date, so the timing fits the name, and it starts at 19:30.
If you've never been, Wharf Chambers is a bar and venue in the centre of Leeds, run as a workers' co-op together with a members' club as a not-for-profit space for music, art, film, politics and discussion. It sits on the ground floor of a Victorian former pork pie factory on Wharf Street, on the edge of The Calls near the back of the Corn Exchange, and has a beer garden. Membership is required to get in — £2 a year or £15 for life — and each member can bring up to three guests.
Inside, there's a free Radical Lending Library with books on race, gender, sexuality, queerness, class and radical politics. The venue works to a safer spaces agreement, with gender-neutral toilets, a wheelchair-accessible cubicle with a baby changer and a permanent hearing loop. It's one of those spots that cares as much about who can get through the door as what's happening on the stage.
