Over-18s night of funk and soul with eight-piece brass band Happy Daggers at The Domino Club in the Grand Arcade.
Happy Daggers play The Domino Club on Friday 30 October, with the night presented and organised by the club itself. It's an over-18s event, so you'll need to keep that in mind if you're bringing a younger crowd along.
They describe their sound as full-fat funk and electric soul with echoes of disco's hedonistic peak. That's not just a studio thing, either: they're an eight-piece, brass-infused live band, so the horns are a proper part of the sound rather than something tucked into the background. They talk about the performance as bursting with contagious energy, which gives you a good idea of what they're aiming for on the night.

It's a late one, too. The music runs from 10:20 PM through to 1 AM, so it's more of a night out than a quick trip to a gig. If you want to get in early and settle in, the doors open at 6 PM, and the live music starts from 7 PM, well before the main set kicks off. Advance standing tickets start from £10, and the venue is The Domino Club, Unit 7 Grand Arcade, Leeds LS1 6PG.
