Irish post-punk band Gurriers, with support from Tramhaus, play Project House at the Brudenell Social Club in Armley.
Gurriers are playing Brudenell Social Club this Saturday, 17 October, in the Project House. They're an Irish post-punk band fronted by Dan Hoff, and this is one of the dates on the tour for their second album, Nobody's Coming To Save You. The tour kicked off on 14 October in Glasgow, so the Leeds show comes early in the run.
The new record was tracked across two studios: Attica Studios in Donegal and Holy Mountain Studios in London, with Mark Bowen and Loren Humphrey of Idles involved in the recording and John Congleton on the mix. The set will pull from that, alongside material from their 2024 debut Come And See, which put them on the map as a visceral new voice in the scene and gave them fan favourites like 'Approachable'.
Since that debut, the band has moved into larger rooms and bigger stages: Later... with Jools Holland, the main stage at Glastonbury, and support slots for Turnstile and Kneecap at Wembley. Hoff draws on a wide range of writers for his lyrics β Samuel Beckett, Slavoj Ε½iΕΎek, Kurt Vonnegut and Rebecca Solnit β and points to a line from activist Dan Savage as a guiding idea: 'We bury our friends in the morning, we protest in the afternoon, and we dance all night'.
