Live gig by Birmingham artist Genevieve Miles and her band Witchy, blending psychedelic alt-rock with raw emotion.
Genevieve Miles plays Hyde Park Book Club on Friday 13 November, from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. She's a Birmingham artist who performs with a five-piece band, and her sound sits in that psychedelic, witchy alt-rock territory—the kind of thing that pulls in rage, grief and release and lets them all run together. If you're trying to place it, the comparisons that come up are Slowdive, Wolf Alice and The War On Drugs, so it's got a fair bit of space and atmosphere to it.
She describes her live shows as feeling more like collective therapy than gigs, with the audience invited to be loud, unfiltered and fully alive. It's a bit of a different way of framing a night out—less about standing still and listening, more about getting stuck in. She calls this chapter of her career 'the time of the wild woman', and that's the energy she brings to the stage.
She's been building a decent run of stages lately, with BBC Introducing support and slots at Camp Bestival, Wychwood Festival, Truck Festival, The Great Escape and Big Retreat Festival. Fontaines D.C. also shared her acoustic cover of 'I Don't Belong' for the Rock the Breadline fundraiser, and her music has appeared in a Hyundai advert and been endorsed by Goose and Gander.

It's a full-band set, so you'll get the five-piece rather than just her on her own. The night runs from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm at Hyde Park Book Club, 27-29 Headingley Lane, Leeds, LS6 1BL.
