Live music night with Evil Sword, Ratpakk, Slappstikk and Brynzii at Wharf Chambers, the workers' co-op venue on Wharf Street.
Evil Sword headline Wharf Chambers on Sunday 25 October, with Ratpakk, Slappstikk and Brynzii on the bill. The night is put on by Pakk Promotions, and it starts at 18:30.
Ratpakk are a Leeds-formed anarchist, queer punk collective that's been around since 2022. They pair aggressive punk with discordant noise, and they describe their work as drawing on the social realism and disconnection of post-industrial northern life, played with a confrontational, political attitude. They've put out the album SKINT AS FUCK (28 October 2024) and the singles 'Yer Nan' (10 August 2026) and 'Sunneh' (1 April 2025).
Wharf Chambers is a bar and venue run by a workers' co-op as a not-for-profit members' club for music, art, film, politics and discussion. It's on the ground floor of a Victorian former pork pie factory on Wharf Street, on the edge of The Calls behind the Corn Exchange, and it has a beer garden. Access requires membership, which is £2 a year or £15 for life, and each member can bring up to three guests. The venue works to a safer spaces agreement, is accessible, has gender-neutral toilets and a permanent hearing loop, and is home to a free Radical Lending Library stocking books on race, gender, sexuality, queerness, class and radical politics.
