Daytime disco and afternoon dance party with 20th-century hits, curated by Jon and Vicky McClure.
Day Fever comes to Project House on Saturday 19 December, from 3:00pm to 8:00pm. It's a daytime disco and afternoon dance party, and the music is personally curated by Jon McClure of Reverend and the Makers and actress Vicky McClure. The music policy is the greatest hits of the 20th century, so it's the kind of thing you'll know rather than anything you'll need to study beforehand.
Day Fever was launched in 2024 by Vicky McClure, filmmaker Jonny Owen, and Jon McClure. Since then it's grown into a regular fixture across the UK, with thousands of people packing clubs and theatres every weekend and a loyal following of sold-out shows at some of the country's most famous venues. Vicky McClure has talked about seeing people enjoying themselves and meeting each other, and how that made her realise how important it is for everyone to take some time out and have a good dance. The whole thing is described as 'the day-time disco that doesn't ruin your Sunday'.
There's a particular way they like things to run on the dancefloor. They ask people to refrain from petting, except in the smooch and slow section, and to keep the acrobatics and gymnastics for elsewhere, encouraging vigorous dancing instead. It's billed as a safe, positive space where you can dance without a dress code or an ego, and the daytime slot means you're out by 8:00pm rather than in the early hours.
