Live gig by Irish singer Dave Lofts with guests at the Brudenell Social Club.
Dave Lofts plays the Brudenell Social Club on Wednesday 4 November, with doors opening at 19:30. He's an Irish singer who's been playing stages across Ireland, and this is one of his dates over here. He's originally from Wicklow and now lives in Waterford, so he's come a fair way to get to Leeds.
There's a bit of a story behind the gig, too. Lofts recently signed a record deal with B Unique in London, the same label that represents Kodaline, James Bay and Kingfishr. It's the kind of move that usually marks a shift from the smaller rooms he's been working in to something a bit larger, and this Brudenell date sits right in that transition. He's not coming on his own, either: the night is billed as Dave Lofts + Guests, so there'll be other acts on the bill alongside him.
If you're not yet familiar with him, he's a singer-songwriter from the east coast of Ireland who's spent the last few years building a name for himself on the live circuit. He's a Wicklow man by birth and a Waterford man by residence, and that Irish background is where he's spent his time playing before this run of dates. The B Unique deal puts him in the same stable as Kodaline and James Bay, two acts that found their feet with a melodic, song-led sound, so it gives you a fair idea of the territory he's working in.
