Halloween Rocky Horror punk sing-along with a live band and cabaret and burlesque performers, followed by the 'Spellbound' Alt 80s club night.
Dan's Girlfriend presents Dammit Janet! at Boom on Saturday 31 October, a Halloween special that takes the songs of The Rocky Horror Show and gives them a punk twist. It's a sing-along, so you're expected to join in rather than just watch from the side, and the organisers encourage dressing up for the night. The live band handles the music, and the whole thing is billed as a love letter to the songs of the show, played with a punk edge.
It's not just the band on stage, either. The night includes live cabaret and burlesque performers Anita Dans and Mattress, who'll be part of the mix alongside the music. Between the punk versions of the Rocky Horror songs and the cabaret acts, there's a fair bit going on throughout the evening.
One thing that makes it a full night out: your ticket includes free entry to the 'Spellbound' Alt 80s Club Night, which kicks off immediately after the gig. So you can sing along to the punk-rock Rocky Horror set and then stay on for the club night without having to head home or find another spot.
