Conference session led by Polly Harrow on creating inclusive post-16 environments, covering the teenage brain, conflict prevention and trauma-informed practice.
Polly Harrow is leading a session called Belonging, Behaviour and Success: Creating Inclusive Post-16 Environments at the Royal Armouries Conference and Events on Tuesday 26 January 2027. It runs from 10:00 to 14:00, so it's a morning and early afternoon thing rather than a full day.
The session is part of the Northern Summit on Inclusion, Relationships and Trauma-Informed Practice, a conference focused on inclusion, relationships and trauma-informed practice in post-16 education. Harrow's part of it looks at the teenage brain, how to avoid conflict before it starts, and building culture through everyday practice. She'll be sharing experiences of embedding trauma-informed and restorative practice in further education and skills, so it's grounded in what actually happens in the classroom and the workshop rather than just theory.
There's a new practical side to it too: the session introduces the Relationship Sex Education (RSE) Toolkit, which has been developed over the last 18 months to help educators and employers in the post-16 sector tackle misogyny and reduce gender-based violence. If you're working with young people in Leeds or across the region, that's a concrete tool to take away from the day.

Tickets are £49.00, and they're sold through Eventbrite on a buy-one-get-one-free offer, so it's one to bring a colleague along with you. The session runs from 10:00 to 14:00 at the Royal Armouries Conference and Events on Armouries Way, Leeds LS10 1LT.
