Stand-up comedy night at The HiFi Club, Leeds' independent comedy club, headlined by Hull comedian Jack Gleadow with Lloyd Griffith.
Jack Gleadow headlines The HiFi Club on Saturday 21 November, part of the venue's long-running Comedy Club. He's supported by Lloyd Griffith, so there are two acts on the bill rather than just one.
If you've been around the Leeds comedy scene for a while, you'll know the HiFi's Comedy Club isn't a new addition. It's been running since 2001 and bills itself as the city's finest independent stand-up night. It's also a bit of a launchpad: Alan Carr, Paul Sinha, John Bishop, Katherine Ryan, Reginald D Hunter, Tom Stade, Jason Manford, Jon Richardson, Sarah Millican, Daliso Chaponda, Russell Howard, Joe Lycett and Chris Ramsey all called the room home in the early days of their careers. It's the kind of place where you catch people before they're filling arenas.
Jack Gleadow fits that mould. He's an award-winning stand-up and a Hull local, described as a high-energy performer with a cheeky persona, coming fresh from a run of sell-out laptop shows. Critics have compared him to Lee Evans and Norman Wisdom, which gives you a fair idea of the energy he brings to the stage — more physical and broad than the dry, observational stuff you often find on a club night. With Lloyd Griffith opening, it's a full evening of stand-up rather than a single set.

The show starts at 6:45pm, with doors opening at 5:30pm, so there's plenty of time to get in and settle before the first act. Tickets are £20.90, which includes the booking fee.
