Stand-up night hosted by Judith Jacobs with Curtis Walker, Toju and Roger D, celebrating the cast of 'The Real McCoy' for Black History Month.
COBO are bringing Stand Up With The Real McCoy to The Wardrobe on Sunday 25 October, a night that puts the cast of the ground-breaking BBC comedy series The Real McCoy back on stage. The original show is credited with changing the face of British comedy, and this bill leans right into that history. Judith Jacobs, an original McCoy member, hosts the evening, and the line-up includes Curtis Walker, a long-time McCoy favourite, alongside Toju and Roger D, both of whom made their comedy debut on the show. It's a celebration of Black History Month, and the whole thing is presented by COBO, which stands for Comedy Of Black Origin.
If you remember The Real McCoy, you'll know it was more than just a sketch show; it was a platform that gave a whole generation of Black comedians their first break. Seeing the people who actually came through it back together on one stage is a nice way to mark that. The night runs for around two hours, and it's for over-18s only.
