18+ night of psychedelic chill out, acid, ambient and space rock with FROND, Simon Scott, Slacky and Ana K Miller.
Club Cosmos returns to Outlaws Yacht Club on Sunday 1 November, with FROND, Simon Scott, Slacky and Ana K Miller on the bill. It's a Sunday night, so it's one of those things you can drift into without worrying about an early start the next morning.
If you've never come across it, Club Cosmos is a night that looks at psychedelic chill out and everything that branches off from there. The music it pulls from is a wide spread: Acid, Ambient, Ambient Techno, Cosmic, Experimental, Downtempo, Krautrock, Proto Goa, Psychedelic Dub and Space Rock. It's less of a single sound and more of a territory, so you're as likely to hear something you can nod along to as something that just hangs in the air.
That range is a good way to get a feel for what the night is about. The line-up for this one brings together four names — FROND, Simon Scott, Slacky and Ana K Miller — and the bill is listed as a session of Club Cosmos, which fits the way the night works. It's about the space the music takes up rather than a set of songs you'll recognise from the radio.
