Stand-up show 'Pizazz' by Christopher Hall, the former Sugababes background singer, at The Wardrobe.
Christopher Hall brings his show Pizazz to The Wardrobe on Wednesday 21 October, a mid-week night of stand-up in Leeds. He describes himself as a theatrical showman, and the title Pizazz fits the bill: it's billed as fun, glamorous and full of dancing, so it's a bit more of a production than your standard mic-and-stool set. Edinburgh Festivals Magazine called it "brilliantly relatable and funny."
If you're wondering how he ended up in stand-up, the path is a fair bit more winding than most. He cut his teeth performing in his parents' front room and spent his twenties dancing in Soho's gay bars and on cruise ships. From there he shot to fame as a background singer on collaborations with the Sugababes, Natasha Bedingfield, Sophie Ellis Bextor and Shania Twain. He built a following on Instagram and TikTok before returning to the stage with stand-up, so the dancing and the theatricality aren't just additions — they're part of the background he's coming from.
It's a one-man show, so the whole thing rests on him. The dancing is a good indicator of what to expect: it's a high-energy, performative night rather than a quiet one. The 18+ age rating is worth keeping in mind if you're thinking of bringing a younger crowd along.

Doors open at 7pm, with the show starting at 7:30pm, so you've got plenty of time to get settled before he takes the stage. It's a Wednesday night at The Wardrobe, so it's a mid-week one rather than a weekend outing.
