Live gig by London alternative power trio Big Red, with support from Mayfire and Mini Disc, at Hyde Park Book Club.
Big Red play Hyde Park Book Club on Wednesday 11 November, with support from Mayfire and Mini Disc. It's a mid-week one, and the night starts at 7:30pm.
Big Red are an alternative act from London, and the band grew out of a collection of guitar songs written by Joseph Scarisbrick. He's the singer and the creator of the band, and he also fronts The Orchestra (For Now) — these were the songs that didn't quite fit that project. With bassist Millie Kirby and drummer Charlie Hancock on board, it became a power trio. They describe their recording process as an honest one: live takes, a cowbell on one song, and double-tracked guitars on the choruses. It's a straightforward way of working that lets the songs stand on their own.
