Beaujolais wine tasting of the ten Beaujolais Crus and the new Beaujolais Nouveau to mark Beaujolais Nouveau Day, run by Yorkshire Wine School.
Yorkshire Wine School is hosting a Beaujolais tasting at St Peter's Hall on Saturday 21 November, starting at 2:00pm. The date is Beaujolais Nouveau Day, the day the new vintage is released, and the session is built around it.
The main thing you'll do is taste all ten of the Beaujolais Crus side by side, so you can see what the region is actually capable of, with the newly released Beaujolais Nouveau alongside them. The Beaujolais region is increasingly recognised for its complex, terroir-driven wines led by those ten Cru villages, and the school has billed the session 'Gorgeous Gamay, Brilliant Beaujolais'.
Yorkshire Wine School is part of the Local Wine School Network, which they describe as the world's fastest-growing network of independent wine schools, offering fun, accessible courses at all levels plus professional qualifications. St Peter's Hall at 41 The Calls is their home, where they run midweek evening classes, WSET courses and plenty of collaborative and guest speaker events. This tasting is also part of the network's all-day Saturday programme, with sister sessions running in York and Harrogate on the same day.
