Ballet class for children aged 8 to 11 from the Saturday Superstars series at Yorkshire Dance in Leeds.
Yorkshire Dance is running a ballet class for 8 to 11-year-olds on Saturday 12 December, part of their Autumn Term programme. It's one of the sessions in their Saturday Superstars series, which runs throughout the term, so it's a regular slot rather than a one-off.
The class is held at Yorkshire Dance, 3 St Peter's Square, Leeds LS9 8AH, in the city centre. The building houses dance studios and a theatre space, and it runs classes throughout the week as well as the Saturday morning sessions. Beyond the weekly classes, they stage annual festivals that bring local and international dance artists to perform and lead workshops and talks, with all festival events on a Pay What You Can basis.
Yorkshire Dance is a regional charity, and they describe their work as using dance to create happiness, health, connection and change. The venue is set up as a hub for the Leeds arts community, providing office space for small creative businesses and an artist co-working space. It's also dementia-friendly, parent-and-baby friendly and fully accessible, and they describe it as an inclusive 'braver space' for everyone who comes through the door.
