Fundraiser night at Hyde Park Book Club with the pop-up exhibition 'Archive of Home' and music from local Leeds DJs, raising money for the Palestinian collective Frameless.0.
Hyde Park Book Club is hosting a fundraiser for Gaza on Sunday 15 November, from 6:30pm to 11:00pm. The night is built around Archive of Home, a pop-up exhibition that brings together work from artists across Gaza who have visualised what home means to them. Alongside those pieces, you'll find art prints and comics based on children's interpretations of daily life in Gaza.
The exhibition is the heart of the evening, and the music fills in the rest. The bill is rounded out by a night of sets from local Leeds DJs: bundy, Eyo96, Ihatenoise, ilion lost herbs and SLAYA. It's a long stretch of music to go with the art, so you can spend as much or as little time with the exhibition as you like.
Everything raised goes to @frameless.0, a Palestinian collective that runs workshops for children and artists in Gaza City. Their approach is to encourage them to express themselves without being told what the 'right answer' should be, and the work in Archive of Home comes from that same spirit. The venue is at 27-29 Headingley Lane, LS6 1BL, and there's step-free access at the rear.
