Concert by the anonymous Quebec duo Angine De Poitrine, fusing acid techno, disco and rock, with support from Gros Men.
Angine De Poitrine play the Brudenell Social Club on Sunday 18 October, with Gros Men on the bill too. They're an anonymous duo from Quebec: Khn de Poitrine on microtonal guitars and vocals, and Klek de Poitrine on percussion and vocals. Their sound pulls from acid techno, disco and rock, and they describe it as asymmetrical and dissonant, built around tight, pulsing drum grooves and the intricate tangles of a double-neck microtonal guitar.
They've come a long way since releasing Vol. I in 2024. Since then, they've played major festivals in Quebec, including the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, and have plans to play the Trans Musicales in Rennes. The Guardian called their riffs and grooves hypnotic, and they've become one of the breakout stories of 2026, selling out venues worldwide within minutes. Their second album, Vol. II, followed physical releases of both Vol. I and Vol. II in June, and it topped both the Official Rock & Metal Charts and the Independent Breakers Chart in the UK. They also made their US television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where they played the unreleased song 'Zugzegk'.
