All Jokes Aside Free Comedy Night

All Jokes Aside are bringing their free comedy night to The Northern Market on Thursday 11 March, with a line-up of stand-up performers from across the regions. It's run by the All Jokes Aside team, who pull together a variety of comedians for the evening rather than a single headliner, so you'll get several different acts in one sitting.

The comedians they bring in aren't just working through a few open-mic bits; they're performers who tell tall tales and play material they've carefully cultivated from a wealth of experience. That's the core of the night — a mix of storytelling and polished stand-up from people who've been doing this long enough to know what lands. Because it's a variety bill, the tone shifts from one act to the next, so if one doesn't quite hit your fancy, the next one usually will.

The Northern Market is a food market and beer hall in the heart of Leeds city centre, with a fully stocked bar pouring Northern Monk beers alongside some of the city's tastiest food vendors. It's just a ten-minute walk from the bus and train station, which makes it an easy one to get to if you're coming in from elsewhere. The comedy takes place in The Event Space, so you can grab a drink or something to eat before the show starts.

The night runs for about two and a half hours, and it's for over-18s. Entry is free — pay what you wish — with doors opening at 19:25 and the show starting at 19:30.
