Free 18+ Halloween disco with DJ Leon's Scary Soundsystem, creepy cocktails and fancy dress at Sela Bar & Pizzeria.
Sela Bar & Pizzeria is hosting its Ahhh Freak Out! Halloween Disco on Saturday 31 October, starting from 9pm. It's a Halloween-themed disco night, and the music comes from DJ Leon's Scary Soundsystem, who'll be on the decks throughout the evening. Fancy dress is very much encouraged, so it's a good excuse to dig out a costume if you've been looking for one.
Sela is a well-known spot in the city centre, having opened back in 2004 with a focus on quality imported beers, fun cocktails and a stage for the region's finest musicians. They stock over thirty different beers from around the world, change their cocktail offerings regularly and run a pizza menu that's regarded as one of the best in Leeds. The venue describes itself as the place to be for a good old spooky shin-dig, promising creepy cocktails, spooky shots, petrifying pints and devilish disco dancing.
It's a regular hub for live music, too. Their weekly programming includes the Wednesday residency of the Mojah Reggae Band, the Tuesday Big Band Jam and the Thursday-night Gin House Records residency on the fourth Thursday of the month, with local funksters The New Mastersounds as regular visitors. So, while the Halloween Disco is a one-off, it fits right into the kind of music-led nights Sela does throughout the year.

Before you head down, there are a couple of practical things to keep in mind. Entry is free for over-18s, and the night kicks off from 9pm on Halloween night. Accessibility is limited: the event space, bar area and toilets are all down narrow sets of stairs and there is no disabled toilet on site, though large print menus are available on request. You'll find them at 20 New Briggate, LS1 6NU.
