Free 18+ night of ska classics with two live ska bands, The 2Tone Project and Rookie Numbers, at Merkur Casino Leeds.
A Ska Spectacular 2 comes to Merkur Casino on Saturday 31 October, put on by SKA at the Casino. It's a double bill of live ska, with two bands playing back-to-back inside the casino room, billed as an evening of ska classics. The first act is The 2Tone Project, an eight-piece live band, and they're followed by Rookie Numbers, a seven-piece from right here in Leeds. Between the two, DJ Sam fills the gaps.
With fifteen musicians on stage across the night, there's plenty of brass to go around. The 2Tone Project brings eight people to the stand, and Rookie Numbers follow with seven, so the horn sections should carry the bulk of the sound. The whole thing is built around ska classics, and the back-to-back format means the music keeps moving from one band to the next.
