Free, family-friendly creative project at Seacroft Forest Garden with morning creative activities and afternoon garden restoration tasks.
A Season in Seacroft runs on Wednesdays from 10:30 to 15:00 at Seacroft Forest Garden, with sessions on 9, 16, 23 and 30 September and 14 and 21 October. It's a family-friendly creative project run by the Skippko Arts Team, and it's free to join.
The mornings are for creative activities that focus on connecting with nature, wellbeing and mindfulness. The afternoons shift to restoring the garden itself, with tasks like building bug hotels, decorating signage and plant labels, and planting. It's a split day, so you can spend the first half making and the second half getting your hands dirty.
Seacroft Forest Garden is a community garden in the heart of Seacroft, built on permaculture principles, which means everything grown there is either edible or useful. Local residents grow fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs, and the trees planted help store carbon and protect local wildlife. The project is part of the Seasons of Culture programme funded by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and the LCIP 2026 programme.
