Jazz night at The Domino Club on Grand Arcade where the Ben Powling Quartet plays The Great American Songbook, pay as you feel.
The Ben Powling Quartet are playing The Domino Club on Thursday 22 October, with the music starting at 19:00. The night is billed as A Love Supreme: The Great American Songbook, so you can expect a set drawn from the jazz standards that make up that songbook.
The Domino Club is a live music venue tucked into the basement of a Grade II listed building on Grand Arcade, LS1 6PG. It runs live music from Wednesday to Sunday, mostly funk, soul, blues and jazz, with special events on Tuesdays and a jazz jam on the first Sunday of each month. On regular Friday and Saturday nights there's a £9 door charge; the rest of the week it's pay as you feel, with all proceeds going to the musicians. This being a Thursday, it falls into that second category: pay as you feel, and the money goes to the band.

There are a few practical things to keep in mind before you head down. The room is strictly 18+, and because it's in a basement, there's no accessible entrance. It works as a standing venue, though there are a small number of bookable tables if you'd rather sit. The Ben Powling Quartet take the stage at 19:00 on Thursday 22 October, and as it's a weekday, the pay-as-you-feel entry means you can decide what you want to give on the night.
