Live gig by the Norwich quintet A Different Kitchen, blending psychedelic rock and post-punk, at Hyde Park Book Club.
A Different Kitchen play Hyde Park Book Club on Saturday 7 November, from 7pm to 10pm. The show is presented by Eat It Raw.
They're a Norwich-born quintet that blurs the line between psychedelic rock and post-punk. They describe their work as fuelled by remorse and shared through personal experience, specialising in thoughtful, achingly personal songs that explore the darker side of grief, loss and social injustice, pairing fragile emotion with unfiltered raw energy. It's a heavy set of themes, and they don't shy away from them.
They've been getting noticed. Tom Robinson and Emily Pilbeam on BBC Radio 6 Music gave them acclaim for the singles 'BBQ Dog' and 'I'm Fine I'm Fine', and the pair tipped them as Ones to Watch in 2025. That led to a slot at Sheffield's 'Get Together' Festival alongside English Teacher, Swim Deep and Adult DVD. They expanded their discography with two EPs in 2025, Denouement and Revolt, so there's a fair bit of recorded material to draw from now.
