A free Thursday night showcase featuring three Kansas City indie pop and rock bands: Use Your Atlas, Golden Groves and Anjo.
The Ship is putting together a free Thursday night showcase on October 15, bringing three Kansas City indie pop and rock bands to the same bill. The lineup is Use Your Atlas, Golden Groves, and Anjo.
Use Your Atlas is the longest-running act of the three, having formed back in 2007. They blend indie rock and alternative with a touch of twang, a sound they call 'Denim Rock.' Golden Groves has been around since 2013, taking its name from the wheat fields of Kansas and billing itself as a full-time 'indie pop dad band' that mixes jazz and rock-and-roll. Anjo is also a local Kansas City indie pop and rock act. All three are from the area, so it's a homegrown bill.
