Tommy Davidson

Tommy Davidson is playing the Funny Bone Comedy Club on Friday, October 16, with two showtimes to choose from: 7 PM and 9:45 PM. If you've never seen him, he's a Washington, DC stand-up and actor, and for a lot of people, the name rings a bell because of In Living Color, the sketch show he starred in. That's where he really made his mark, and it's a good place to start if you're trying to figure out what he brings to the stage.

Before he was headlining his own rooms, he spent time opening for some pretty big names—Patti LaBelle, Kenny G, and Luther Vandross. That's a wide range of stages to cut your teeth on, and it's the kind of background that usually translates into a performer who knows how to read a room. Since then, he's moved into headlining major clubs on his own, and he's not just sticking to the stage: he also released a debut single, "Sweet Reunion."

So, if you're looking for a night of stand-up, you've got two options on the same night. The first show starts at 7 PM, and the second follows at 9:45 PM, both at the Funny Bone Comedy Club, located at 7260 NW 87th St in Kansas City, MO 64153. The club used to be the Kansas City Improv, so if you're still thinking of it by its old name, it's the same spot. Two shows, one night, and Tommy Davidson is the only name on the bill.
