The Wildwoods, a folk-Americana trio from Lincoln, Nebraska, perform live at recordBar. General admission, ages 18+ with valid ID.
The Wildwoods play recordBar on Tuesday, October 13, their first Kansas City date since their last record. They're a folk-Americana trio from Lincoln, Nebraska, and the set will draw from Dear Meadowlark, the fourth album they put out on April 11, 2025. They describe it as a love letter to their home state, and it pairs heartfelt lyricism with indie-folk textures that lean toward Nickel Creek, Gillian Welch, Bon Iver and Mumford & Sons.
The band is Noah Gose on vocals and guitar, Chloe Gose on vocals and violin, and Andrew Vaggalis on vocals and upright bass. All three sing, and the violin and upright bass give the sound a rooted, acoustic feel. They've spent the last couple of years picking up songwriting accolades: they were finalists in the 2024 Rocky Mountain Songwriter Contest and in the 2023 FreshGrass and VHS 'Gems in the Rough' competitions, and their songs 'Untitled' and 'Way of Train' were semi-finalists in the International Songwriting Competition. Dear Meadowlark is the latest addition to that run.
