An evening of improvised musical comedy performed by The Bird Comedy Theater Players at The Bird venue.
The Bird Musical Comedy Show is back at The Bird Comedy Theater on Saturday, October 17. It's an evening of improvised musical comedy staged by The Bird Comedy Theater Players, the resident company at the venue. The whole thing is made up on the spot, so you're seeing songs written and performed in the moment rather than a set of rehearsed numbers.
That resident company is a seven-person ensemble: Aaron Mayer, Alex Haynes, Chante' Keller, Jay Gillen, Nathan Thomas, Rita Hanch and Trish Berrong. They're the same group that handles the theater's regular musical nights, and they're the ones who build the show from the ground up each time.
This particular show is part of a larger weekend schedule at The Bird, which also runs improv and straight comedy nights on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. The musical comedy night falls on the third Saturday of the month, so it's a recurring fixture in the theater's programming rather than a one-off.
