A monthly open discussion group with no set agenda, facilitated by Maxi Moody, for adults aged 18 and over.
The 6242 Talking Club meets at the Southeast Branch of the Kansas City Public Library on Saturday, October 10, from 1:00 to 2:30 PM. It's a monthly open discussion group, and this particular session is facilitated by Maxi Moody.
What sets this apart from most library groups is that there's no set agenda. There isn't a prepared topic or a reading list to work from; the conversation just goes wherever the people in the room take it. If someone brings up a news story, a personal observation, or a random question, that's where the hour and a half spends its time. It's less of a structured seminar and more of a guided conversation, with Moody there to keep things moving and make sure everyone gets a chance to weigh in.
It's for adults 18 and older, so you'll be talking with people from across the city rather than a specific age group. Because it's an open format, you don't need to come prepared with notes or have a background in any particular subject—you just show up and join in. If you're the type who enjoys a long, meandering conversation that wanders from one thing to another, this is exactly that.

The club runs every second Saturday of the month, so if this one doesn't work for you, there's another one coming up soon. This session is in the Southeast Branch Conference Room at 6242 Swope Parkway, Kansas City, MO 64130, from 1:00 to 2:30 PM. An RSVP is required to take part.
