A teen event with games, crafts, and food for ages 12 to 18; doors close at 6 p.m.
The Irene H. Ruiz Branch of the Kansas City Public Library is hosting its Teen Fall Lock-In on Friday, October 16, from 5:30 to 8:00 PM. It's open to teens ages 12 to 18, so it's a night for the middle and high school crowd to hang out at the library after hours.
Inside, the evening is built around three things: games, crafts, and food. There isn't a single set schedule to follow, so you can spend your time however you want—jump into a game, work on a craft, or just grab some food and hang out with friends. If you're more into making things, the crafts will keep you busy; if you're in the mood for something more active, the games are there. And since food is part of the mix, you won't have to worry about heading home early because you're hungry.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Kansas City and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

One detail you'll want to keep in mind: the doors close at 6 PM. The event starts at 5:30, so you've got a half-hour window to get inside before they lock the doors for the night. If you're planning to come, make sure you're there by 6 at the latest, or you'll miss out on the rest of the evening. After that, it's just the teens and the library until 8 PM.
