SWAZA6

SWAZA6 are playing Sk8bar on Saturday, October 17, starting at 8 PM. They're a dark music act from Los Angeles, and this is their only act on the bill for the night.

They describe themselves as "NON STATE CONTROLLED," and they claim to have created a scene and genre of their own, which they call DracWave. According to them, it's built on dark performance, aggressive basslines, and hard-hitting drums. If that sounds like a narrow description, it's because the sound they pull from is actually pretty wide. They list alternative, dark pop, and indie pop alongside rock, darkwave, pop crossover, post-punk, dark electro-pop, EBM, and minimal synth. It's a lot of ground to cover—from the dancefloor-ready side of EBM and minimal synth to the moodier, guitar-driven territory of post-punk and darkwave.

Coming from Los Angeles, they're bringing that sound to Kansas City for the night. The set is just them, so you'll get the full run of what they do without any other acts to break it up. If you're into the darker end of electronic music, this is exactly the kind of thing that fits in that world.

SWAZA6 take the stage at Sk8bar on Saturday, October 17, at 8 PM.
