Adults-only night at Science City with music, drinks, science, games and activities for guests 21+.
Science City is staying open late for the first time ever on Friday, October 16, with Science City After Hours, an adults-only night at Union Station Kansas City. It's a 21+ event, and the tagline they're running with says it all: "The Kids Had Their Turn. Now It's Yours."
The whole night is built around experiences created specifically for this, and there's a lot to move through. You can do karaoke in the Planetarium, make s'mores by the fire, watch old-school film, and play yard games. There's hands-on play in Maker Studio and Creative Corner, and live chemistry demonstrations at Periodic Table. A live DJ keeps things moving, with themed activities scattered throughout the night. Admission includes one cocktail ticket and all the activities, and you can buy more food and drinks once you're inside.
It all happens inside Union Station, the 112-year-old historical landmark at 30 W. Pershing Road. The station is a 501(c)3 non-profit that was renovated and reopened in 1999, and it houses more than just Science Cityβyou'll also find the Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium, the Regnier Extreme Screen Theatre, the Model Railroad Experience, and City Stage under the same roof.
