Ryan Bingham and The Texas Gentlemen - Still Gettin' Away With It Tour

Ryan Bingham is playing the Uptown Theater on Wednesday, October 28, as part of his Still Gettin' Away With It tour. He's not coming alone — he'll be backed by The Texas Gentlemen, the full band he's been touring with, so it's a full-band night rather than a solo acoustic set. The show starts at 8 PM.

If you've followed Bingham's work, you know he's a songwriter who fits as easily into a country hall as he does a rock club. He's spent years building a career around that kind of crossover, and the Still Gettin' Away With It tour keeps that going. The Texas Gentlemen bring the full sound to the stage, and the set will draw from his catalog, with the newer material from the tour sitting alongside the older songs that first put him on the map. It's a good way to hear how his sound has shifted over the years without losing the songwriting that's always been at the center of it.

Having a full band behind him changes the energy of the room, too. Instead of just a guitar and a voice, you've got a whole rhythm section filling out the songs, which gives the set a different weight than his stripped-back performances. It's the kind of show that works just as well if you're there for the lyrics as it does if you're there for the music.

Tickets are available through Live Nation, and the show is at the Uptown Theater in Kansas City on Wednesday, October 28, starting at 8 PM.
