Live music session featuring local artists across various genres including indie, rock, soul, country and jazz at the Rock Island Bridge.
Rock Island Live Music is back at the Rock Island Bridge on Friday, October 16, from 7 PM to 10 PM. It's part of the bridge's regular live music series, which runs three nights a week—Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday—with a rotating lineup of Kansas City's local artists. The genres shift from night to night, so you'll find indie, rock, soul, country, and jazz all under the same roof, depending on who's playing.
The venue itself is a landmark riverfront spot high above the Kansas River, with the water below and the Kansas City skyline as the backdrop. It's not just the main nights, either: the bridge hosts free live music every Sunday afternoon, steel-pan led fusion on Saturdays, donation-based yoga classes, and vinyl-only DJ sets throughout the week. If you're around on a Sunday, that's another easy way to catch some music without having to plan much.
Food and drinks are available on-site, so you can make a full evening of it. The Rock Island Eats lunch menu runs from 11 AM to 3 PM, and the River House dinner menu takes over from 3 PM onward, with a walk-up window for when you just want something quick. If you're coming for the 7 PM show, the dinner menu is what'll be running.
