Concert by the bluegrass band Old Crow Medicine Show on their Union Made Tour, with special guest Ken Pomeroy.
Old Crow Medicine Show play Knuckleheads on Thursday, October 29, as part of their Union Made Tour. They're bringing along special guest Ken Pomeroy to open the night, so there's a full bill on the schedule. The show starts at 7:30 PM at 2715 Rochester Ave in Kansas City.
If you're not familiar with the band, they've come a long way from where they started. They got their beginning busking on street corners across New York and Canada back in 1998, and that's where they caught the attention of folk icon Doc Watson, who invited them to play at his MerleFest. From there, they went on to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry and pick up two Grammy Awards: Best Folk Album for Remedy in 2014 and Best Long Form Music Video for Big Easy Express in 2013. Their single "Wagon Wheel" earned RIAA Double Platinum certification in 2019, and their debut album, O.C.M.S., went Gold.
Their latest Grammy-nominated album, Jubilee, came out in August 2023 on ATO Records, and it's the record they're touring behind right now. Between that and the older material, there's plenty to draw from for a single set. Ken Pomeroy opens the evening, and the main act takes over from there.
