A community gathering with rotating evenings of discussion, activities, and a pay-what-you-can meal on 2nd and 4th Fridays.
Neighbor Night is back at PH Coffee in Pendleton Heights, and it's one of those things that's easier to describe as a habit than a single event. It runs on the second and fourth Friday of every month, starting at 6 PM, so if you miss one, there's usually another one coming along in a couple of weeks. The next few are October 23, November 13, November 27, and December 11.
What makes it a recurring thing rather than a one-off is that the evenings rotate. One night might be a neighborhood discussion, another a family-friendly activity, and others a chance to support local causes and non-profits. The common thread is that it's built to bring neighbors and friends from across Kansas City together around good food, meaningful conversation, and shared connection. It's a community gathering run by PH Coffee, and the rotating format means it changes depending on when you drop in.
Every night is anchored by a pay-what-you-can community meal, which is made possible through partnerships, donations, and grants so that anyone can pull up a chair. That meal is the constant, regardless of whether the rest of the evening is a conversation or an activity. It sits alongside the coffee house's other regular community offerings, like kids' Story Time and the Songwriter's Sanctuary Heartland Song Network night, where musicians share original work and live music.
