The NCAA Division II women's volleyball national championship match held at the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.
The NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championship is coming to the Municipal Auditorium downtown from December 3 to 5. It's a three-day stretch that starts with the quarterfinals on Thursday, December 3, with four matches spaced throughout the day: 11 AM, 1:30 PM, 4:30 PM, and 7 PM. The semifinals follow on Friday, December 4, at 4 PM and 7 PM, and the championship match is on Saturday, December 5, at 2 PM.
This is a tournament with some history behind it—the NCAA has crowned a Division II women's volleyball champion every year since 1981. Cal State LA took the title in 2023 and Tampa won in 2021, and MSU Denver came within a match point of winning the 2025 final. By the time the championship match rolls around on Saturday, the field will have narrowed down to the last two teams standing.
The event is part of a larger push by the Kansas City Sports Commission, the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, and Visit KC, who are bringing six NCAA Division II national championships to the city this fall and welcoming more than 900 student-athletes to compete across Kansas City and the surrounding area. Municipal Auditorium is the home for this one, and once the final is over, the NCAA National Championships Festival Closing Ceremonies will follow at CPKC Stadium.
