Stand-up comedy show by Mojo Brookzz at The Midland Theatre.
Mojo Brookzz brings his stand-up to The Midland Theatre on Friday, October 16, as part of his Outta Pocket Tour. If you've come across his clips on social media, you've probably seen him under that name; his real name is Dyon Brooks, and he's a South Side of Chicago native who built his following on viral sketch comedy across Facebook and Instagram, where he's racked up tens of millions of likes. That online momentum eventually caught the eye of Nick Cannon, who brought him on for Season 21 of Wild 'N Out.
Since then, he's moved into the national spotlight. He won an Emmy for writing and starring in Tyler Perry's Netflix series Miss Governor, and Variety named him one of its 10 Comics to Watch in 2025. Across his platforms, he's sitting on more than 5 million followers, so he's coming to Kansas City with a fair amount of momentum behind him.
On stage, his stand-up blends rapid-fire punchlines, observational humor, and crowd work—the kind of set that keeps moving and keeps you on your toes. The Outta Pocket Tour is taking that act across the country, and The Midland is one of the stops. The theater itself is a downtown Kansas City fixture that's been around since 1927, so it's a big, classic room for a night of comedy.
