Lyal Strickland album release show for 'Shooter of Truth' with special guest Jared Deck at the legendary Knuckleheads Saloon.
Lyal Strickland brings his album release show to Knuckleheads on Friday, October 16, with Jared Deck opening. The night is built around Strickland's new record, Shooter of Truth, which he's releasing right there at the venue.
Strickland comes from Buffalo, Missouri, and he carries the musical heritage of the Missouri Ozarks into his songwriting. He balances touring and recording with raising grass-fed beef back home, and his songs are described as gripping, cinematic dispatches from small-town America. The set will be the first time these tracks are played live as part of the album release.
Opening the night is Jared Deck, who hails from Norman, Oklahoma. He channels the pissed-off, politically minded punch of heartland-rock greats like John Mellencamp and Steve Earle, with a sound that pulls from roots rock, folk, Americana, country blues, and country soul. Between the two, the bill covers a wide stretch of American roots music, from the Ozarks to Oklahoma.

Knuckleheads describes itself as a place where the world's best musicians play. Raul Malo of The Mavericks once put it this way: "When I try to tell someone about what Knuckleheads is like, I can't. I find it easier to buy them an airline ticket, a hotel room and let them come see for themselves." The show starts at 8 PM at Knuckleheads Saloon, 2715 Rochester Ave, Kansas City, MO.
