Live jazz and German drinking songs performed by Bram Wijnands in the Biergarten, with free admission.
Bram Wijnands is playing at Kansas City Bier Company on Sunday, October 11, and he's not just a one-off. This is part of a long run of Saturday afternoons that stretches through the end of the year, so if you can't make this one, you've got plenty of chances to catch him later.
The music is a bit of a crossover: live jazz mixed with German drinking songs. Wijnands is the main draw, and every now and then he's joined by a special guest or two, so the set changes a little from one afternoon to the next. It's the kind of thing that works well as a backdrop for a long lunch or a slow drink, rather than a concert you sit still for.
He plays in the Biergarten, rain or shine. If it does rain, the whole thing just moves indoors to the Bierhalle, so you don't have to check the forecast before you head out. While the music is going, the Biergarten serves fresh, authentic German-style bier and a spread of Bavarian pretzels, sausages, and other favorites. It's a beer garden in the truest sense—you can grab a drink and some food and just hang out while the music plays around you.
