Educational session with a licensed insurance agent to understand Medicaid changes and how to apply for coverage, part of the Let's Get You Covered series.
Let's Get You Covered: Medicaid is at the Lucile H. Bluford Branch of the Kansas City Public Library on Wednesday, October 14, from 3:00 to 4:30 PM. It's part of the library's larger Let's Get You Covered series, which helps people figure out their health insurance options. This particular session focuses on Medicaid—what it is, how the rules have changed, and how to actually apply for coverage.
One thing that's worth knowing about the series is that every session is led by a licensed insurance agent. They're there to give you fair, complete information about all your options without pushing any one plan or provider. It's a neutral space to get your questions answered, and attending the class doesn't guarantee you'll be approved for or enrolled in coverage—it's about getting the information you need to make your own choice. The series as a whole covers a lot of ground beyond just Medicaid, including Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D, as well as the ACA Marketplace.
If you're planning to go, bringing your own phone, tablet, or laptop is recommended, though it's not required. If you don't have one, the library provides devices for anyone who needs one. The class itself runs from 3:00 to 4:30 PM, and walk-in appointment hours follow immediately after. One-on-one appointment times are also available directly afterwards, so if you have a specific situation you'd rather talk through privately than bring up in front of the room, you can do that right then and there.
