Weekly library programme where children aged 6 to 12 are invited to build whatever they like with LEGO bricks.
LEGO Club is back at the Plaza Branch of the Kansas City Public Library on Tuesday, November 24, from 2:30 to 5 PM. It's a weekly program, so if you miss this one, there's another coming shortly after.
The premise is as simple as it gets: kids ages 6 to 12 are invited to build whatever they like. There's no set theme, no specific project to follow, and no right or wrong way to do it. If a child wants to spend the whole afternoon on a single, sprawling castle, they can; if they'd rather build a dozen tiny spaceships and a fleet of cars, that works too. It's one of those rare activities where the goal is just to build, and the only limit is how many bricks they can find.
Because it's a weekly thing, it's easy to make a habit of. If your kid gets into it, they can come back and keep building, maybe picking up where they left off or starting something entirely new each time. It's a low-pressure way to spend a Tuesday afternoon, and since it's at the library, it's a good spot to hang out with other kids in the neighborhood who are doing the same thing. The age range is 6 to 12, so it works for the younger ones just getting the hang of it and the older ones who've already got a few complex designs under their belt.
