Alt-country and country rock musician Kody West performs live at The Legendary Gospel Lounge at Knuckleheads.
Kody West plays Knuckleheads on Thursday, November 12, 2026. He'll be performing in The Legendary Gospel Lounge, the smaller room inside the venue at 2715 Rochester Ave in Kansas City.
West comes from Denton, Texas, and his sound grew out of Texas red dirt, loud rooms and long drives between small towns and festival stages. He plays in the alt-country and country rock genres, and his songs carry a mix of highway grit, heartache and the kind of hope that only shows up after midnight. The band leans into alt-rock edges and big sing-along hooks, keeping one boot in country roots and the other on a fuzz pedal, so live shows feel less like a set list and more like a shared story.
It's a straightforward bill: Kody West is the sole name on the poster, so he'll be carrying the whole night himself. If you're familiar with the Texas red dirt scene, you'll recognize the territory he's working in, though the alt-rock side of things pushes it a bit further from the traditional country sound. Between the grit and the hooks, it's the kind of set that works just as well if you're there for the songwriting as if you're there for the louder, electric side of the room.
