Live country music performance by Jordan James at Tin Roof, part of the 'Nashville Hits the Roof!' series.
Jordan James plays Tin Roof Kansas City on Friday, October 9, starting at 8 PM. The show is part of the venue's Nashville Hits the Roof! series, which brings Nashville-based artists to the historic Westport neighborhood.
James is an Atlanta native who started singing and writing as a kid. He might have given his first performance at three years old, belting out 'Blue Clear Sky' from the backseat of his parents' minivan. By 12, he was chosen to sing with Kenny Rogers at the country star's annual Christmas concert, and he later shared the stage with Jake Owen, Mark Wills and Charles Kelly, winning the Nashville CMT Rising Star award and the Most Outstanding New Vocalist award. Producer and 14-time Grammy winner David Foster hand-picked him to join Foster's 2009 Hit Man Tour.

From there, James moved to Los Angeles, where he wrote for pop and country artists including Michael Ray, Andy Grammer and Hailee Steinfeld, before returning to Nashville. He describes his own style as 'country music for the 21st century' and has written about love, heartbreak and his own adoption. The show is at Tin Roof, 424 Westport Road, Kansas City, MO, and admission is free.
