A two-day professional and amateur boxing invitational featuring Nico Ali Walsh headlining the card, with multiple title fights and amateur bouts.
BiYu Promotions is bringing the Heart of America Pro + Am Boxing Invitational to Memorial Hall on October 9 and 10, two nights of professional and amateur boxing in Kansas City. The main event is middleweight Nico Ali Walsh (12-2-1, 5 KOs) taking on the undefeated Treavon Craycraft (9-0-1) in an eight-round bout. Walsh is the grandson of Muhammad Ali, and he's returning to the ring after ten months working with lawmakers in Washington, D.C. on fighters' causes. He says he's proud to be back under the lights.
The undercard is built around undefeated prospects facing experienced international opposition. Welterweight Pryce Sparrow (7-0, 4 KOs) fights Rashield Williams (14-3, 11 KOs) for the vacant NABA USA Welterweight title, and middleweight Dominique Crowder (19-0) takes on Jayson Mama (21-4-1) for the vacant NABA bantamweight title. Super lightweight Jorge Carlos (13-0, 11 KOs) meets Carlos Manuel Portillo (23-10, 17 KOs); featherweight Izak Carlos (8-0, 6 KOs) faces Deivi Julio (29-18, 18 KOs); lightweight Eric Valencia (7-0, 6 KOs) goes against Martin Diaz (18-24-2, 8 KOs); and middleweight Ryan Maine (9-0, 6 KOs) fights David Lobo Ramirez (20-7, 15 KOs). The card also includes Cuban super flyweight Yusniel Abrahante (8-2, 1 KO), Jamar Pemberton (10-1, 6 KOs) against Edwin Gamboa (13-13-2, 6 KOs), and super middleweight Shomari Wilson (1-0). Amateur boxing is also on the bill, giving developing fighters a chance to compete alongside the pros.
