Frost Loya & Friends return to the Blue Room after their debut on July 25, performing a set of Latin jazz, R&B and classic rock fusion.
Frost Loya & Friends are back at The Blue Room on Saturday, October 10, their first return to the venue since they debuted there on July 25. It's a short gap between the two, so if you caught that first set, this one won't feel like a distant sequel.
Frost Loya has played lead guitar in The Frost Band KC since the band began. They describe their sound as a fusion of Latin jazz, R&B, and classic rock—three styles that don't always sit in the same room, but here they're worked into a single set. It's a broad reach, and that's exactly what the band is known for.
The Blue Room is the American Jazz Museum's working jazz club and a living exhibit in the Historic 18th & Vine Jazz District. It takes its name from the famed 1930s Street Hotel lounge, which was listed in The Negro Motorist Green Book as a safe place for African American travelers and where Jackie Robinson once lived. The district is internationally recognized as a cradle of jazz, with Charlie Parker its most notable musician, and the room stages more than 20 live shows a month.
